John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people with his pop-folk songs and many of them based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell New Mexico. However, he was enthralled by Colorado. He later made his way to Aspen. Denver's famous anthems about Colorado have inspired many people to move to the state. There isn't anyone else who represents Colorado such as John Denver said G. Brown curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. In 2011 Denver was named the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. He is now the international face of Colorado. Certainly in my travels you come across someone on the opposite end of the planet, or someone from New Zealand and you say "I'm originally from Colorado and the first word that comes they say is Oh John Denver! Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's top 10 hit after he performed with small folk bands. The song was written and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff had written the song inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver was able to hear an early version and knew the song would be one of the Top 10 hits. The singer recorded the song within a couple of days after performing it to an enthusiastic audience in Washington D.C.
